Council partners with Hazel Glen College to deliver $2.6 million netball facility

Hazel Glen College and the City of Whittlesea are partnering to deliver a $2.6 million netball facility at the school.

The project will provide a Netball Victoria compliant training venue to support growth in netball participation for women and girls across Doreen, including Hazel Glen Netball Club.

The new facility will include sports lighting and a roof to provide a sheltered space for year-round access to netball training, casual basketball use, additional PE classes, school assemblies and presentations, and community showcase events.

The gates will remain open for general community access after hours when not being used by a sports club.

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2022, with Hazel Glen College and the City of Whittlesea actively pursuing external funding opportunities for the project.
