Benalla Rural City Council is excited to announce the formation of a Community Panel to assist in the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029, Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan, and Community Vision. The Council is seeking enthusiastic and committed community members to join this panel and contribute to shaping the future of the Rural City.
The Council Plan is a strategic document that outlines the vision, priorities, and objectives for the next four years. It is crucial for guiding the Council's activities and decision-making processes. By joining the Community Panel, members will have the opportunity to provide valuable input and ensure that the plans reflect the needs and aspirations of the diverse community.
The survey to express interest in joining the Community Panel will open on Monday 18 November, and close on Friday 6 December. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 13 December. Panel members will be required to attend three meetings throughout the development of the Council Plan, likely starting in early February and then meeting twice more in May and June 2025. Participants will receive remuneration for their time and contributions.
Effective community engagement is vital for understanding the diverse needs of residents. By actively gathering input, the Council can prioritise initiatives that align with community expectations and enhance the overall quality of life in Benalla. Participation in the panel will help create a Council Plan that truly reflects the aspirations of the community.
