Georges River Council is seeking community feedback on the Tom Ugly's Point Reserve Seawall Upgrade as part of Council's 2024/25 capital works program.
Tom Ugly's Point Reserve is situated in Blakehurst, overlooking the Georges River and adjacent to Kogarah Bay and Kyle Bay.
A marine asset investigation undertaken by Council in the 2023/24 financial year revealed that an upgrade is required to the seawall to make the recreational area a safer and more enjoyable space for the community.
The concept design for the new seawall has recently been completed, which will include a new revetment and parapet wall, expansion of the existing fishing platform, and new intertidal rockpool habitats.
Council is now seeking feedback on this concept design, and further information on how residents and visitors use the area.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "The upgrade of Tom Ugly's Point Reserve is a significant step towards enhancing our community's recreational spaces.
"It will be an exciting space that local fishermen can use, and community members can visit.
"I encourage everyone to view the concept designs and provide feedback."
Consultation on the concept design will be open until 21 March 2025.
