Planning proposal for Hue Hue Road, Wyee and amendment to Wyee West Precinct Plan
Council will consider endorsing a planning proposal to rezone part of 1377 Hue Hue Road, Wyee, and part of the adjoining Digary Road Reserve from RU2 Rural Landscape and C2 Environmental Conservation to R2 Low Density Residential.
The proposal also seeks to change the minimum lot size from 20 hectares to 450m2 consistent with the adjacent residential land.
It also outlines a minor realignment of the boundary between the C2 Environmental Conservation zoned land and the proposed R2 residential zoned land to ensure the biodiversity values of Mannering Creek in the southern corner of the site are conserved.
The proposal was placed on public exhibition from 1 to 28 August 2024 and received three submissions.
Planning Agreement – 1377 Hue Hue Road, Wyee
Council will consider endorsing a planning agreement between Council and Wyee Nominees Pty Limited and TOPA Property Pty Ltd to dedicate conservation land at the rear of 1377 Hue Hue Road, Wyee to Council to address the biodiversity offsets required for the expected future development on the proposed R2 Low Density Residential land.
Development application – 8 Killara Close, Coal Point
Council will consider endorsing a development application for construction of a two-storey split level dwelling and boat shed at 8 Killara Close, Coal Point.
Demolition works – 15 High Street, Redhead
Council will consider endorsing a development application for demolition of existing structures at 15 High Street, Redhead and construction of a three-storey dwelling house and swimming pool.
Requests for donations
Council will consider recommending six donations for approval at the next Ordinary Council meeting.
NSW Justices Association, the Fathering Project, Toronto Multi-Purpose Centre, Healing Path to Wellness. Friends with Dignity and Many Nations United Newcastle are being considered for $2000 donations.
The Donations Program considers requests from not-for-profit groups and organisations with significant local membership or participation or are undertaking a project with significant local benefit.
Draft flood study
Council will consider recommending a draft flood study for Morans Creek, Stockton Creek, Mullards Creek, Clacks Creek, Melaleuca Creek and Dora Creek for public exhibition at the next Ordinary Meeting.
The objective of the flood study is to improve understanding of flood behaviour and impacts, as well as better inform management of flood risk. It also aims to inform the Morisset Place Strategy.
Following a review of feedback received during the proposed exhibition period, Council would receive a further report to consider the flood study for adoption.
