On 24 November 2022, the Office of the Independent Assessor received a complaint regarding the conduct of a Councillor.
The complaint related to comments made by the Councillor in relation to a Council staff member allegedly throwing a pen at another Council staff member and that the Council's CEO allegedly witnessed the incident and failed to intervene.
Despite some news media reports, there are no matters in which any Councillor is subject to action or investigation for any incident between a fellow Councillor or staff member.
At this point, there has been no decision made on whether inappropriate conduct has taken place.
