A large number of community and sporting organisations will share in more than $90,000 under Council's Community and Community Events grant programs.
In one of the largest funding pools ever, $50,000 was available through the Community grants program, with an additional $30,000 available in one-off COVID support and sporting equipment funding and $15,000 was available through the Community Events grant program.
Successful applicants range from local sporting clubs, historical organisations and management committees and organisations that encourage and provide social connection, with a significant number receiving the full amount requested in their applications.
A small number of unsuccessful applications for the grant stream will be provided with alternative funding suggestions and support from Council's Community Development Team.
A further nine applicants were successful for funding under the Community Events grant program.
In awarding the funding, Council acknowledged the work of the Indigo Shire Community Grants and Awards Advisory Committee and the Community Events Grant Assessment Panel in reviewing the applications and determining the funding distribution.
