Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is one step closer to finalising an agreement which will provide water security for the Region for the short to medium term.
As part of ongoing negotiations with Seqwater, TRC Water and Waste Committee chair Cr Rebecca Vonhoff said Council was close to securing a new agreement for its annual allocation in the Wivenhoe system.
"Council has an existing agreement where 10,000 ML of raw water can be pumped from Wivenhoe Dam to Lake Cressbrook," Cr Vonhoff said.
"The original agreement was for 10 years and has been extended while we negotiate a new agreement. We're hoping to have this finalised this year.
