Swan Hill Rural City Council is urging residents and visitors to follow all signage at the construction site for the new Swan Hill Tourism and Cultural Hub, in Monash Drive Swan Hill.
Council's Director Development and Planning, Michelle Grainger said to ensure the safety of all pedestrians, a footpath diversion is in place and clearly signed.
"Unfortunately, Council has observed that many pedestrians are not complying with the designated diversion, leading to serious safety concerns. The detour has been carefully planned to protect the community and workers from potential hazards within the construction zone.
"We understand that diversions may cause some inconvenience, but they are in place for everyone's safety," Ms Grainger said.
Ms. Grainger emphasised that disregarding these safety measures poses a serious risk to both pedestrians and workers.
"We urge the community to cooperate by following all safety instructions and signage. Please use designated pedestrian paths and refrain from entering restricted areas," Ms. Grainger said.
