Council Welcomes 19 New Citizens To Hawkesbury

A picture of a family at July's Citizenship CeremonyHawkesbury City Council welcomed 19 new citizens to the Hawkesbury on Monday, 29 July 2024.

The citizenship ceremony was held at the Council Chambers, with residents hailing from the United Kingdom, India, New Zealand, Brazil, Peru, Iran, Pakistan and Lebanon taking the oath.

Hawkesbury Deputy Mayor Barry Calvert was delighted to welcome the new citizens. Councillors Eddie Dogramachi, Amanda Kotlash, Jill Reardon, Les Sheather and Paul Veigel were also in attendance.

Dharug woman Rhiannon Wright delivered the Welcome to Country. Hawkesbury Police Local Area Command Detective Acting Superintendent Virginia Gorman and Air Commodore Bradley Clarke from RAAF Base Richmond also delivered a welcoming address to the new citizens.
