Thompsons Road and Berwick-Cranbourne Road Intersection is set to be upgraded following a Federal Government funding commitment of $41.75 million announced this week.
Residents have frequently raised issues of concern regarding the intersection. Mayor of the City of Casey, Cr Stefan Koomen, welcomes the Federal Government's announcement of $41.75 million for the upgrade of the intersection.
"As Councillors, we regularly receive feedback from residents about improving this intersection and I am thrilled that the federal government has committed funds for its upgrade" Cr Koomen said.
"Council is currently negotiating an agreement with Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) to make a $5.69 million contribution towards construction and has strongly advocated for this upgrade for several years."
Other projects that Council is also advocating for include the upgrade and extension of Thompsons Road to Pakenham, and other desperately needed upgrades along the Clyde Road corridor.
