Council Welcomes Seven New Councillors

Swan Hill Rural City Council is excited to announce the swearing-in of its seven new Councillors, who officially assumed office on Tuesday, 19 November 2024.

Council's CEO Scott Barber said this marked the beginning of a new chapter for the municipality as we welcome a team of leaders who bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table.

The newly elected Councillors are:

  • Cr Hugh Broad
  • Cr Philip Englefield
  • Cr Terry Jennings
  • Cr Stuart King
  • Cr Les McPhee
  • Cr Lindsay Rogers
  • Cr Peta Thornton

"Each Councillor is committed to working collaboratively to address the needs and aspirations of our community, fostering growth and well-being across the municipality. Their unique expertise and passion for the region will be instrumental in shaping the future of our municipality," Mr Barber said.

Mr Barber said the election of the Mayor will take place on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, when Councillors will select their Chair and Spokesperson to represent the Council.

"We look forward to the contributions of our new Councillors and encourage the community to stay engaged as we work together for a prosperous future," Mr Barber said.
