City of Parramatta Council has re-elected Councillor Michelle Garrard as Deputy Lord Mayor at a Council Meeting tonight.
The Our Local Community Party member will serve in the role until the Local Government elections in September next year.
"I congratulate Cr Garrard for securing her fourth consecutive term as Deputy Lord Mayor," City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.
"I'm looking forward to working closely with Cr Garrard as our City recovers from the economic and social impacts of COVID-19.
"We are focused on revitalising our night-time economy, supporting our local businesses and cultural organisations, and helping to deliver City-changing infrastructure projects, such as 5 Parramatta Square and the new Aquatic and Leisure Centre."
Cr Garrard, a life-long resident of Parramatta, was elected to City of Parramatta Council in September 2017 and represents the Dundas Ward.
"I am honoured to once again be elected Deputy Lord Mayor and would like to thank my colleagues for placing their trust in me," Cr Garrard said.
"Sydney's Central River City is experiencing a once-in-a-generation transformation and I welcome the opportunity to continue to work with the Lord Mayor to achieve great outcomes for our City."
This is the first time a City of Parramatta Councillor has held the position of Deputy Lord Mayor for four consecutive years.
