Starting Monday 21 October 2024, randomly selected Snowy Monaro residents and ratepayers will receive a call asking for their honest assessment of Council's performance over the last 12 months as part of our yearly Community Satisfaction Survey.
Survey calls will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, with the results benchmarked against previous years to provide our newly elected councillors with the solid data they need to make informed decisions over the coming term.
Between Monday 21 October and Monday 4 November 2024, calls will be placed to local landlines and mobiles from 3.30pm – 8pm on weekdays and 10am – 4pm on weekends.
This year's survey is being conducted by Taverner Research Group, a leading Australian company in the field certified under ISO 20252:2019 – the international gold-standard certification for research and polling organisations.
Council is calling on our community to set aside 15 minutes over the coming fortnight to tell us how we're doing. The Community Satisfaction Survey is your best opportunity to let us know what we are getting right, and importantly, what needs to change to better meet your need and expectations.
Results from this year's survey will be benchmarked against prior years to track how Council is performing over time and measured against survey results from other inland regional councils in NSW.
Once the 2024 results for have been collated and analysed, Taverner will prepare a comprehensive report and summary scorecard for councillors and Council executives before the end of the year.
Understanding survey methodology and the validity of results |
Since its early beginnings in the United States 200 years ago, the science behind opinion polling and survey-based research has evolved from biased and unreliable newspaper straw polls to a fully-fledged discipline that underpins scientific, social and political research across the world. The ISO 20252:2019 standard used by Taverner Research Group to undertake this year's Community Satisfaction Survey is the result of nearly a century of research and refinement. This random sampling methodology ensures that the results are an accurate and reliable representation of our community as a whole. Respondents will be screened at the start of the call to ensure that they are over the age of 18, live in the Snowy Monaro local government area, and do not work for Council or serve as a councillor.
