Greater Shepparton City Council is encouraging local community groups and not-for-profit organisations to apply for their share of funding as part of Council's Community Grants Program.

- Local community groups and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for funding under three grant categories: Small Town Festive Decorations, Community Matching, and Minor and Major Event grants.
- Grants of up to $3,000 are available for festive decorations, up to $5,000 for community projects and events, and up to $5,000 for facilitating major events.
- Council will host two free sessions on Wednesday 27 November 2024, to explain eligibility, the application process and key details.
- Submissions for the grants close on Monday,10 February 2025, at 5.00pm.
Applications for the following grants are now open:
- Small Town Festive Decorations – Grants of up to $3,000 are available for small towns within Greater Shepparton to decorate their main street and/or public space to celebrate the festive season.
- Community Matching – Grants of up to $5,000 are available for community groups to support one-off projects and events which benefit and strengthen the Greater Shepparton community.
- Minor and Major Event – Grants of up to $2,000 (Minor) and up to $5,000 (Major) are available to help facilitate events which attracts visitation, increases and enhances community spirit, participation, inclusion and wellbeing.
Council's Director Sustainable Development, Geraldine Christou, urged eligible community groups and organisations to apply for one of three available grant categories.
"These grants are specifically designed for our community. Each round of funding is set aside to help local groups host events, run programs, or make purchases that benefit the broader community," she said.
"I encourage residents to think creatively and consider unique, impactful ways to use this funding for a wide variety of projects."
Council will be hosting two free information sessions to provide information on eligible community groups and projects, the application process and key dates and grant amounts. There will also be an opportunity to have questions answered. Registrations are not required.
