Coup For Emerald Beach

NSW Nationals

Emerald Beach residents can forge ahead with a project designed to bring their community even closer together, thanks to a NSW Community Building Partnership grant.

Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh joined Emerald Beach Fair Committee members and other community representatives to celebrate their $29,632 in funding from the program.

"The Emerald Beach Community Pavilion, to be built at the picturesque Emerald Beach Reserve, will now become a reality because of this successful funding application by Emerald Beach Fair," Mr Singh said.

"This project - which will see a new purpose-built community pavilion to gather, meet and play – was conceived by the Emerald Beach Fair Committee for everyone to enjoy.

"It's a wonderful initiative deserving of this funding and I congratulate everyone involved for highlighting its importance to the community.

"The pavilion will be of enormous benefit to locals and visitors for many years to come and I look forward to seeing it take pride of place at Emerald Beach Reserve."

Emerald Beach Fair Committee Grants Officer Sherrie Rutherford said the committee is overjoyed the new pavilion will provide an event space for the Emerald Beach Fair, meaning more funds raised from the fair can go directly back into community projects.

"It's also great that there will now be a place for cultural, volunteer and community groups to meet, not to mention a sheltered seating space for all of Emerald Beach and its visitors to use."

The Emerald Beach Community Pavilion is among 13 Coffs Coast projects sharing in $300,000 in funding under this latest round of the Community Building Partnership Program.

"This is all about grassroots funding helping to create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive social and recreational outcomes," Mr Singh said.
