"We have a truly remarkable community, and I will be working everyday to make our city an even better place to live, work and play," Cr Oxley said.

"My focus is on making Kingston the most liveable, safe, prosperous, sustainable, and connected community possible and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together.

"I am committed to maintaining open and transparent lines of communication with our community and ensuring Council puts them first.

"We have a very diverse, energetic, and passionate group ready to work alongside our community and with so many fresh faces I am committed to being a collaborative leader as we deliver on the community's priorities over the next 12 months and beyond.

"I'm passionate about our community and excited what the future holds for our city."

Banksia Ward Councillor Chris Howe was elected as Deputy Mayor for the next 12 months.

Cr Howe said he was thrilled to represent the Bonbeach, Carrum, and Patterson Lakes community and to serve Kingston as Deputy Mayor.

"I look forward to getting to know all my fellow councillors better, finding common ground and creating innovative solutions for positive change," Cr Howe said.

"With seven first-time Councillors elected, we know we have a lot to learn in our first weeks and months, but we also have buckets of enthusiasm and fresh ideas to bring to the table.

"I am also excited to partner with even more community groups, local businesses, traders, sports clubs, and other community members throughout the year and across this council term."
