Cranlana Programme Appoints New CEO

The Chairman of the Cranlana Programme Foundation Mr Kim Williams AM, today announced that Ms Vanessa Pigrum would take up the position of the CEO of the Cranlana Programme from Monday, 16 July.
Ms Pigrum succeeds Kate Latimer when she steps down on Friday 13 July after nine years at the helm. Over the period of Kate’s leadership the offering has expanded its proposition with an extensive programme aimed to stimulate and inform a wide diversity of professionals from the public, private and not for profit sectors in Australia about leadership and ethical settings.
The Cranlana Programme will celebrate its 25th anniversary in the 2018/19 financial year. Initially inspired from models such as the Aspen Institute in the USA, the programme was set up by the Myer Foundation in 1993 to "cultivate wisdom in leadership". Housed at the original Myer Family home, Cranlana, the Programme runs its signature six-day colloquium and a range of two-day sector specific symposiums both at Cranlana and in other capital cities. The Programme also runs a number of alumni and public engagement activities seeking to reach out to the Programme's diverse alumni cohort of approx. 3,500.
Vanessa Pigrum has just completed a period as the Executive Director & co-CEO of Chunky Move, Victoria’s flagship contemporary dance company. Her career has included leadership roles in many of Melbourne’s iconic festivals, cultural organisations and public events – as a creative producer and CEO. From 2001-2003 she was the Festival Director and CEO of Melbourne Fringe Festival. Between 2003-2005 she returned to the VCA to complete a Masters degree and then established FULL TILT, a new commissioning program for independent artists at Arts Centre Melbourne. For the next 6 years she was the Program Manager, Creative Development at Arts Centre Melbourne. From 2011-2015 Vanessa was the Manager Creative Culture at City of Darebin (Melbourne) where she led a team of 40 and revitalised the programs of three arts centres, and developed a new 6 year Arts Strategy for the municipality.
"The Board salutes Kate Latimer and welcomes Vanessa who we know will contribute to the further development of the Cranlana Programme in its 25th anniversary," Mr Williams said.
