Northern Territory Police are investigating after a pedestrian strike in Stuart Park overnight.
Around 10:50pm, police received reports a white Mitsubishi Outlander travelling outbound on the Stuart Highway at the intersection of Westralia Street had struck a female pedestrian crossing the road.
The driver of the vehicle stopped a short distance away and emergency services attended the scene and located a 46-year-old woman, wearing dark coloured clothing, still on the road with serious injuries. She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with multiple fractures.
The driver of the vehicle tested negative for alcohol and drugs and it is not yet known if the pedestrian was affected by alcohol or drugs.
Diversions were in place along the Stuart Highway but they have since been lifted.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said "The crash was captured on CCTV and shows the at-fault pedestrian walking into the path of the oncoming vehicle which was travelling through a green light intersection.
"Investigations are ongoing into the crash and we urge anyone with information to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference 24049974."
