CFA crews were called to a grass and scrub fire that had spread into parkland near Shirley Park in Woodend at 11.38am on Saturday, 28 March.
When crews first arrived on scene around half an acre had already been impacted by fire and the flames were creeping up several large Cypress trees.
There were six CFA vehicles on scene from Woodend, Macedon, Carlsruhe, Tylden, Newham and Hesket.
It took just over two hours to bring the fire under control and black out the area.
Later the same day another fire ignited around 100 metres from the first incident, though was quickly contained by local CFA crews from Woodend, Carlsruhe and Newham.
Victoria Police were on scene and are investigating both incidents.
