A man has been charged for allegedly wearing Outlaw Motorcycle Gang supporter wear within licensed premises in Adelaide this week.
About 9am Friday 13 March officers from the Crime Gangs Task Force attended a Hillbank home and arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly wearing OMCG supporter wear inside a licenced premises on Hindley Street, Adelaide, on Tuesday 10 March.
The man was charged with enter licensed premises wearing a prohibited item. He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 17 April.
It is an offence to wear or carry an item within licensed premises which indicates membership of, or an association to, a declared criminal organisation. (Section 117E of the Liquor Licensing Act)
The prohibited item was seized and may be subject to forfeiture.
The acting officer in Charge of the Serious and Organised Crime Branch, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Fisher says, "This should serve as a reminder to those who may consider associating themselves with Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs that they will be closely monitored and police will strictly enforce any breaches of the law."
