Critical Incident: Two Hurt in Canley Vale Pursuit Crash

A critical incident investigation is underway after two people were taken to hospital in critical conditions following a pursuit and crash in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 7.20pm (Thursday 24 March 2025), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop an unregistered Ford Falcon travelling on McBurney Road, Cabramatta.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued until it reached Railway Parade, Canley Vale, where the Ford crashed into a power pole.

The driver – a 33-year-old woman – and passenger – a 35-year-old man – were both treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in critical conditions.

A crime scene has been established, with specialist officers from Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.

A critical incident investigation team from Campbelltown City Police Area Command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
