The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 61) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 62) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 7:45pm on Friday 5 November 2021.
Key changes include:
Travellers who arrive from the Northern Territory from 7:45pm on 5 November 2021 will be subject to the following restrictions.
Vaccinated Arrivals
If you have received one or both full courses of a COVID-19 vaccination you enter South Australian with Level 3 requirements:
- COVID-19 test on day 1, 5, & 13.
- Self-quarantine until negative test.
- No entry into high risk setting for 14 days after arrival unless clause 9 applies.
- No entry to COVID Management Plan events >1000.
Note: If you have a medical exemption as to why you cannot receive the vaccination and evidence of this you can provide to an authorised officer, you can enter South Australia with Level 3 requirements.
If you are younger than 12 years and 1 month of age you will enter South Australia under the vaccination status of the parents/ guardians/ adults you are travelling with.
Unvaccinated Arrivals
If you are a returning South Australian Resident and have not received a COVID-19 vaccination, you can enter South Australia under Level 4 requirements:
- COVID-19 test on day 1, 5, & 13.
- Self-quarantine for 14 days.
- Must wear a face mask (covering mouth and nose) at any time that they come into contact with the public for a period of 14 days after their arrival in SA.
If you are a visitor or Essential Traveller and have not received a COVID-19 vaccination you are not permitted to enter South Australia. You must apply to SA Health for an exemption and receive approval from SA Health before Travel.
Note: People are travelling with children under 12 years and 1 month – the children will have the vaccination status of the parents/guardians/adults.
Travellers are permitted to enter South Australia via the Stuart Highway near Marla.
Other existing requirements remain.
