Crossbench, Independents Urged to Oppose Privatisation

Tas Labor

Labor will continue to stand up against Jeremy Rockliff's desperate privatisation plans that will put prices up and send the revenue we need to pay for our schools and hospitals offshore.

Today, the independent members on the crossbench have a golden opportunity to step up, join us, and end this disaster before it gets off the ground.

Since announcing his fire sale of public assets, Jeremy Rockliff has failed to justify why intergenerational Tasmanians assets should be sold off forever because he has failed to manage the budget.

It's because he can't.

Privatisation leads to increased costs and decreased services. After 11 years of the Liberals, Tasmanians can't afford either.

I urge all members of the crossbench to stand up to the Premier's desperate privatisation plans today.
