More than 10,000 people - 2000 more than last year - came together at Governor Phillip Park on Sunday 4 August for a day of family fun and community connection.

Boasting 20 stalls from our local community partners, 20 market stalls, 17 food trucks and tents, kids activities, free face painting and emergency services display, Hawkesbury Fest was a massive day of fun for all.

It was also the perfect opportunity to come and see what the Council is doing in your community, with 11 interactive and informative stalls, and thousands took the opportunity to learn about Council and to provide us with valuable feedback.

More than 2500 visitors engaged with us on our Engagement Board which helps us learn about what kind of events they would like in the Hawkesbury and how they like to hear from us. More than 150 free animal tags were engraved, and 275 native plants were given away. Visitors also learned about our upcoming major projects, our library, gallery and museum, our environmental and resource recovery work, community services and more.

There were also dog races with Farmer Dave, rock-climbing wall, giant slide, live and roving entertainers, and delicious food and desserts.

Hawkesbury Fest is how we celebrate our community during Local Government Week and is an innovative and unique event among councils across NSW.

Council thanks the Small Business Sponsors for supporting this event: Big Event Picnic Tables, Rob's Backyard Pizza, Sage Pig Collection, Tortatoes Twisted Potatoes, Total Hearing and BullAnt Termites and Pest Control.

Council's events season is now in full swing, with Savour the Flavour Hawkesbury our next major event on Saturday 12 October in Richmond.
