With $1 million of support through our National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program there will be 12 diverse exhibitions heading around the country and one travelling to Singapore. The program enables audiences from across Australia and the world to access and learn about the culture that has shaped our national identity. The funding includes:
- Over $216,000 to support the tour of National Gallery of Australia's 'Single Channel: Video Art & the Moving Image exhibition' to audiences in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. 'Single Channel' will present significant video works by Australian artists of the 1970s onwards, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
- Over $96,000 for the National Archives of Australia's exhibition 'Reception this way: motels - a sentimental journey with Tim Ross', which will tour to venues in Tasmania and Queensland.
- More than $106,000 to enable the National Museum of Australia to tour in New South Wales and Western Australia works of art that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists who use the colour red to express their relationships to Country, family, ritual, knowledge and spirituality.
