Cumberland Police Seek Tips on Vehicle Projectile Incidents

Police are appealing for information following reports of projectiles being thrown onto vehicles travelling on the M4, in Sydney's west.

About 7.30am on Sunday (1 September 2024), projectiles, believed to be food, were thrown from the Cumberland Highway overpass, on to the M4.

There were no reports of damage.

About 8am on Monday (2 September 2024), police were called to the M4, South Wentworthville, at the Coleman St overpass, following reports a vehicle had been hit by a projectile.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a vehicle had been struck by a rock. No one was injured in the incident.

About 8.50am today (Tuesday 3 September 2024) police were called to the M4 at Greystanes, between the Pitt and Coleman Street overpasses, following reports a vehicle had been hit by an item.

Officers attended and found a bus had been struck by an unknown projectile. No injuries were reported.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents, with initial inquiries suggesting they may be linked.
