Cyclist critical after crash, NSW

A cyclist has been critically injured after a crash near Cronulla this morning.

About 7am (Wednesday 26 December 2018), emergency services were called to Captain Cook Drive, Greenhills Beach, following reports of a crash between a cyclist and Holden Astra.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 74-year-old man, wasn't injured and was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.

He has since been arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command, assisted by Crash Investigation Unit, are continuing their investigations into the crash.
