A cyclist has died in hospital after he was hit by a ute north of Coffs Harbour earlier this week.
Just before 6.45am on Wednesday 15 April 2020, emergency services were called to Central Bucca Road at Bucca, about 20km north of Coffs Harbour, after reports two cyclists were struck by a ute turning into a driveway.
The men, both aged 47, were treated on scene for multiple injuries before being taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
One man was airlifted in a critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he died this morning (Friday 17 April 2020).
The other man was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver, a man aged 63, was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for mandatory testing and returned a negative result. He was not injured.
Officers from Coffs-Clarence Police District continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
