Robert E. Moriarty, deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Installations, was awarded the 2024 Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive.
PRAs are awarded by the President of the United States and are one of the most prestigious awards in career civil service, recognizing important contributions of public servants across the federal government. The Meritorious Rank Award is earned by only 5% of executives in any given year.
"Bob Moriarty is a shining example of selfless service as his dedication to his country spans decades. He has positively influenced the lives of countless Airmen, Guardians, and their families," said Dr. Ravi Chaudhary, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations and Environment.
Moriarty was one of 236 winners from 30 federal agencies selected for his leadership, accomplishments, and sustained contributions to federal service over his 41-year career.
Moriarty credits his active-duty military time at the installation level, which shaped his perspective and provided him with the experiences he needed to succeed. He shares this achievement with his countless teammates who over the years, influenced his development and growth as a leader.
"I am truly honored to receive this meaningful award," Moriarty said. "Over the course of my career, I had the tremendous opportunity to work alongside many dedicated hard-working people, in communities around the world, on many impactful mission, member and family programs."
Moriarty emphasized his steadfast family support throughout his military and civilian career and stated his wife of 38 years, Cindy, has been his best sounding board and he couldn't have gotten to where he is without her.
"Bob has represented the Department of the Air Force in over 300 civic engagements, advanced over 100 strategic basing actions, and spearheaded the Department of the Air Force's first commercial venture apartment complex at Edwards Air Force Base. He has built strong relationships with our military communities and enabled community partnership programs such as Intergovernmental Service Agreements and the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation DCIP grants to flourish in the DAF. I could not be prouder of Bob and it has been an honor to work alongside him," Chaudhary continued.
