Dangerous Driving Appeal, Broadbeach

Gold Coast police are seeking public assistance following a dangerous driving incident in Broadbeach on November 5.

At approximately 6pm, police heard loud revving, screeching, and heavy acceleration coming from a vehicle in a car park along Casino Drive.

Two officers approached the vehicle on foot and directed the driver to stop.

After an initial engagement, the vehicle accelerated forward, making contact with one officer.

The vehicle proceeded to exit the car park onto Casino Drive, striking the hand of a second officer in the process.

As it left the area, the suspect vehicle drove on the wrong side of the road, causing pedestrians to jump out of the way.

Both officers were transported to hospital with minor injuries and are currently recovering.

The vehicle was later observed heading towards Logan.

Investigations to locate the driver and the vehicle are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information on this incident or who may have witnessed the vehicle driving in the area around that time to come forward.
