Dangerous Driving Charges At Gold Coast 1 July

Police have charged a man following an incident on the Pacific Motorway earlier today, July 1.

At around 8:15am, members of the public called police about a white Mitsubishi Triton allegedly driving dangerously at Yatala.

The vehicle continued to head south along the M1, and Polair commenced monitoring the vehicle near Smith Street.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed by police near Reedy Creek.

It is alleged that the vehicle continued along the Pacific Motorway before colliding with a concrete barrier near the Palm Beach Avenue exit around 10am.

The male driver was taken into custody and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The 33-year-old Capalaba man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, evasion offence damages property, did drive U.I.L, driving or motor vehicle without a driver licence and Fraud - dishonesty make off without paying.

He was also issued two traffic infringement notices, including drive/park or permit drive/park defective vehicle that does not comply with vehicle standards and injurious matter on road.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 2.
