Dangerous Driving Charges At Gold Coast 17 August

A man has been charged with traffic offences following an alleged hooning activity in Gilberton, last night.

At approximately 10pm, police responded to reports of a traffic crash on Stapylton Jacobs Well Road.

It will be alleged a black Ford Falcon ute was doing burnouts when the driver lost control and collided with a white Ford Ranger and white Holden Commodore. The Ford ute subsequently caught on fire.

The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 30-year-old Waterford man and a 6-year-old girl sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Commodore was not physically injured.

The driver of the Ford ute, a 29-year-old Browns Plains man, was not injured and has been charged with one count each of driving whilst over the middle alcohol limit (0.104), dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without a licence, driving an unregistered vehicle and stealing (fuel).

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates court on Monday, September 16.
