Dangerous driving charges at Loganlea, QLD

A man has been charged with numerous offences after allegedly driving a stolen car at high speed through the Logan area last night, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 8.10pm police attempted to intercept a vehicle believed to be stolen on Paradise Road at Springwood which accelerated and drove away.

POLAIR 1 was then deployed to track the vehicle which allegedly travelled at excessive speed through red lights at Logan Central before the male driver stopped the car on Isabel Street, Loganlea and fled on foot.

The police dog unit later located a man in bushland near the rail corridor at Loganlea and have taken him into custody without further incident.

A 23-year-old Victoria Point man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fail to stop a motor vehicle, obstruct police, enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence.

He is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court this morning.
