A 35-year-old Kingston man was taken into custody yesterday for numerous driving related offences. Police became aware of the man driving a dark grey Holden Cruse dangerously in the Mornington area around midday.
The man was driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic. A short time later around 1pm, police observed the vehicle on the Southern Outlet, Kingston where the driving manner continued with him undertaking vehicles using the emergency lane and the gravel verge, nearly causing an accident on the Kingston Bypass.
Police located the man at a residence in Kingston later in the afternoon and he was taken safely into custody where he was detained for court. As a result of the driving, the vehicle has been clamped.
Police are calling for witnesses to the driving manner of the vehicle and would appreciate any information or CCTV/dashcam.
