Police have charged a man over alleged dangerous driving offences around the Mackay and St Lawrence areas overnight, October 24.
It will be alleged around 10.30pm a vehicle crossed on to the other side of the road narrowly missing oncoming traffic while travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway, towards Carmila.
No other vehicles were struck or members of the public injured during the incident.
A short time later, the vehicle was pulled over and police arrested the male driver on the Bruce Highway at St Lawrence.
It will be alleged the driver tested positive to a roadside breath test, before returning a BAS of 0.182.
A 62-year-old Woolmar man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, evasion, and driving UIL.
He is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court on November 19.
