Police have charged a man following the dangerous operation of a vehicle in Stanthorpe and Warwick this afternoon.
Just after 3pm, a man allegedly stole a Ford Ranger from a car dealership on Maryland Street in Stanthorpe.
The man proceeded to drive the stolen car across Canavon Bridge towards Wallangarra Road.
He has then made a U-turn and driven back across the Canarvon Bridge heading north along Maryland Street.
Whilst driving at excessive speeds the man allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road and mounted a gutter before proceeding east along Folkestone Street.
The man has then driven at high speeds north on the New England Highway towards Warwick.
Police activated lights and siren, however the man failed and to stop and no pursuit took place.
Police were notified from members of the public of the stolen car crashing into another car on Rosehill Road a short time later. Thankfully, no one was injured in this crash.
The man has continued driving after the crash and lost control around a corner resulting the car to roll over.
The man exited the car and was located a short distance away and arrested.
A 21-year-old man from Marsden was charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and driving a motor vehicle without a license. Two counts of driving an uninsured vehicle and vehicles used on roads must be registered.
He was also charged with one count each of evasion offence, fail to comply with duties of driver involved in crash and give the drivers required particulars and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The man was taken to Warwick Hospital in relation to an unrelated medical condition.
He will appear at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on August 22.
