The Lawler Labor Government continues to deliver major events which build on the Territory's iconic lifestyle.
Launching today, Darwin Festival 2024 is aiming to improve on 2023's success, injecting over $20 million into the economy and drawing over 160,000 attendances.
This year Darwin Festival will feature a unique mix of world premieres, national sell-out shows, iconic Australian musicians and award winning comedians. New to the Festival this year will be the first-ever extension of the festival fun to Palmerston, new food and drink tours and experiences, and the new immersive experiences by Darkfield - Flight and Séance.
Running from 8 - 25 August, there will be 680 performances over 18 days including Big Name, No Blankets, a rock 'n' roll theatre extravaganza that has sold out around the country.
A raft of Australia's most popular shows are making their way up north: Tom Gleeson's stand-up show Gear, The Spiegeltent's new show The Party, the critically acclaimed play Fourteen, and family-friendly smash hit Cirque Bon Bon.
Darwin Festival will also host multiple world premier performances, kicking off with the highly anticipated Song Spirals by Rosealee Pearson, Tracks Dance's mesmerising Cloud Split, and Vital Forces, a new musical work commemorating the 50th anniversary of the devastating Cyclone Tracy.
The iconic Darwin Ski Club will again host the closing weekend, this year featuring three incredible concerts with The Cat Empire, Kate Miller-Heidke and Marlon Williams.
