A Darwin resident or visitor scooped up a cool $1 million in Monday's Lotto, though they remain blissfully unaware of their newly-minted millionaire status.
The unsuspecting winner was one of four players across the country who won the top prize in Monday Lotto draw 4306, held on 24 July 2023. Despite being registered to a player card, lottery officials says they have been unable to reach the lucky Darwin player to inform them of their life-altering win.
The winning ticket was purchased at Coolalinga Newsagency in Coolalinga Shopping Centre.
Jason Barling, the store owner, said he was happy to see another millionaire in the Northern Territory.
This win marked the seventh division one win for the Coolalinga Newsagency in the last 17 years, sparking Barling to predict a winning streak for his outlet. Barling also extended his best wishes to the mysterious winner, urging them to fully enjoy their newfound fortune and make all their dreams come true.
The Lott's attempts to reach the winner have so far been thwarted due to outdated contact details, as spokesperson Anna Hobdell explained.
"I was ready to confirm the Northern Territory's newest division one winner straight after the draw results were known, but sadly the phone number provided doesn’t seem to be up to date," Hobdell revealed.
The winning numbers for the draw were 39, 6, 22, 21, 24, and 42, supplemented by 18 and 38.
The other three winners of the Monday Lotto, each netting $1 million, hail from Victoria and Western Australia, making it a truly lucky day for four Australian residents.
