Northern Territory Police have arrested 12 people in relation to separate stolen motor vehicle pursuits across Darwin on Sunday morning.
Around 2:15am, police received reports that a Toyota Hilux that was stolen from a residence on Farrar Boulevard and driven through the property gate.
A short time later, Strike Force Trident located the vehicle at a stop on Coonawarra Road, Winnellie. One 24-year-old male was arrested before the remaining 4 offenders fled in the scene in the stolen vehicle.
A pursuit was initiated, with the vehicle being located abandoned in Palmerston.
Trident later located and arrested 3 youths aged 14, 14 and 17 and one adult aged 19, at an address in Gray.
Around 5:05am in a separate incident, Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a vehicle had been stolen from a residence on Tasman Circuit, Wagaman.
The stolen motor vehicle was located by Trident and Dog Operations Unit (DOU) and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons after the DOU vehicle was rammed by the stolen vehicle while it reversed.
The stolen vehicle was later located in Casuarina where a second pursuit was commenced, and a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed.
One female adult aged 19 and 6 male youths, 3 aged 15 and two aged 16 and one 17-year-old were arrested at the scene.
All alleged offenders remain in custody with charges expected to follow.
