Darwin is famous for its vibrant street food offerings, with visitors and locals flocking to enjoy tasty treats, sizzling snacks and mouthwatering meals across the municipality.
From traveling to Italy with a classic wood fired pizza, bruschetta or panna cotta, to enjoying a curly ice cream during a weekend park play date, there is a range of street food choices and experiences on offer.
Expressions of interest for City of Darwin's Street Food Program open today, Friday 14 February, and close on Friday 28 February 2025.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he was proud of the city's vibrant street food program, which provided a variety of options at famous locations around the municipality.
"Our vibrant Street Food Program helps activate the incredible outdoor spaces for which Darwin is famous for, with street food available at numerous coastal sunset viewing spots to the many hustling and busting community events on offer each year," Mr Vatskalis said.
"Excitingly this year we have a new location available, with the revitalised Bundilla Beach area able to host a number of street food vendors from April 2025.
"Our Street Food Program adds to Darwin's thriving food scene, as well as enhancing our outdoor offerings and contributing to the local economy," he said.
Aspiring entrepreneurs can enter the program through a one-month trial permit at a discounted rate, to test market viability and refine product offerings.
The Street Food Program runs from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026.
