Due to predicted wet weather this weekend, the Jindabyne cleanup day targeting the lake foreshore and town centre has been postponed until Saturday 6 May 2023 from 10am to 12pm, meeting at Jindabyne Skate Park.
Council appreciates the community's understanding, and we hope to see you on the first Saturday in May.
Hosted by Snowy Monaro Regional Council in partnership with Sustainable Snowies, our Jindabyne community cleanup day is a step towards a revived and revitalised Jindabyne Foreshore following months of inundation.
To sweeten the deal, every volunteer gets free fresh fruit provided by Woolworths Jindabyne and a free sausage sizzle for their collected litter.
Collection bags, gloves, and claws for your rubbish-picking needs are provided, but volunteers will need to bring hat, drinking water and sunscreen.
All cleanup day volunteers will also go into a lucky door prize draw, with prizes courtesy of our proud Sustainable Snowies partners Thredbo and Perisher.
This event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Council asks that participants stay a safe distance from the eroded lake edge along the foreshore pathways.
