Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man following an attempted armed robbery in Daylesford yesterday.
Police have been told a male offender entered a local bakery on Parks Lane and held an edged weapon to the bodies of two female employees about 2.50pm on 11 May.
It is understood the offender jumped the front counter and demanded the victim's hand over the store's takings.
The victim's didn't hand over the money and it's believed the man was spooked as another customer entered the store.
The offender fled the scene and ran towards Vincent Street prior to police arrival.
The 40-year-old and 45-year-old victims, both from Daylesford, were not physically injured during the incident.
The male offender is described as having an olive complexion, being in his 40's, 185cm tall with a thin build.
He was wearing a black hoodie jumper, grey jeans and wearing sunglasses.
The investigation remains ongoing and it's believed a number of people were in the area at the time of the incident and investigators are keen to speak to them.
