The City of Ryde has a long and proud history of conducting the Spring Garden Competition. This established community event has been held annually for more than 30 years and the City of Ryde is one of the few local councils still organising and providing a garden competition for its residents and local community.
The competition's 'hands on' quality provides the community with a chance to not only better our gardens but to also keep active, creative and to establish amazing spaces of relaxation.
City of Ryde Mayor Trenton Brown said the wide variety of gardens on show represented the many people and cultures that so beautifully reflect this City.
"This competition involves the whole community – from the youngest green thumbs to the most experienced garden gurus," he said. "The Spring Garden Competition brings together people from all walks of life who share a common interest for gardening, being physically active outdoors, and creating a sense of pride in their community."
