Homicide Squad detectives are investigating following the death of a man after he was arrested by police in Bellbrae last night, Victoria Police say.
Officers were responding to reports of a man behaving erratically on The Great Ocean Road near Hurst Road about 7.30pm.
The man was arrested and then fell unconscious.
Emergency personal attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
All deaths in police custody are investigated by the Homicide Squad, with oversight from Professional Standards Command as per standard practice
