Northern Territory Police are investigating the death of a man on a hiking trail west of Alice Springs yesterday.
Just after 4:30pm, police were alerted that a 22-year-old- man, who was hiking with a group of friends, had collapsed on a trail between Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap.
Friends had conducted CPR on the man for a period of time, before another group of hikers arrived with a satellite phone and called 000.
A helicopter was deployed to the area however the man died at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a file for the Coroner.
