World Teachers' Day on October 25 is an opportunity to recognise and applaud Queensland educators for their important role in our communities and for the positive impact they have on the lives of students.
The commitment of more than 220 staff who support young people in five Carinity Education schools - including teachers, youth workers, chaplains and support staff - will be recognised on World Teachers' Day.
They include Dani Radel, who Carinity Education Gladstone Principal, Jane Greenland, says "guides and encourages students in her classes with care, compassion and respect."
"Her impact is huge because she truly believes in the ability of every young person in her classes, expects great things from them - and consequently they shine and gain self-belief," Jane said.
"The amazing individual and collective impact that each staff member has contributes to the success of each and every student and the happiness within our school community."
Students are flourishing under the guidance of Toni Horman, who has taught at Carinity Education Glendyne in Hervey Bay for three years.
"This year, her impact with the Year 9 and 10 groups has been nothing short of amazing. Thanks to her dedication, these students have flourished, with some even securing part-time jobs," school principal Dale Hansen said.
"The bond Toni has built with her students is so strong and meaningful that they lovingly call her 'Mum'."
Described by school principal Lyn Harland as "highly dedicated, kind, compassionate and authentic", Crispin Aldiss is a recent addition to the teaching ranks at Carinity Education Rockhampton.
"Crispin's wealth of educational expertise, positive attitude and engaging manner mean the children are naturally drawn to his classroom and focused on their learning," Lyn said.
"Crispin's peers hold him in high regard and the students often wait at the front of school for his arrival and miss him dearly when he is offsite."
Antonio McCray's arrival as HPE teacher at Carinity Education Southside in Brisbane was described by school principal Leann Faint as "a fantastic boost to staff culture".
"Antonio goes above and beyond in engaging our students in health and fitness, but his impact doesn't stop there," Leann said.
"He's also been a huge support to our staff, offering personalised fitness programs and group workout sessions, helping staff prioritise their wellbeing."
Carinity CEO, Kevin Griffiths, said the theme of this year's World Teachers' Day - 'Teachers make a difference' - resonates deeply with Carinity's mission.
"Every day, through dedication and care, our teachers make a significant impact on the lives of our students," Kevin said.
"Our teachers' influence extends beyond the classroom, touching the hearts of young people and guiding them towards a future filled with hope, and opportunity."
