Defence Department's Winter Warriors Soar in Skies

The ADF Parachute Association hosted the Winter Warriors Skills Camp at Moruya, NSW, from June 8-10, drawing over 25 skydivers from the RAAF, Navy and Army.

Skydive OZ provided the perfect backdrop, with flawless weather conditions setting the stage for a weekend of skydiving.

Participants trained under some of Australia's top skydiving coaches, enhancing their skills through intensive practice sessions.

The camp not only offered an opportunity for skill development but several members also achieved additional qualifications.

Major Ian Brooks, of Headquarters Forces Command, praised the event, highlighting the significant progress made by all participants.

"It was a fantastic weekend with over 360 skydives completed altogether," he said.

"Seeing the improvement in everyone's abilities was great as it means that more members of the ADFPA are gaining more qualifications, which was the aim of the camp".

The camp finished with a 15-way Defence personnel formation skydive, which involved members diving out of the plane and linking up in freefall.
