The weather forecast is looking pretty wet for the next couple of days and the Bureau of Metrology and the SES have advised that there is a chance of some localised flooding north and south of Kiama and inland.
We can't stop the rain; however, we are doing the preparation works that we can including:
- Ensuring drainage facilities that normally have issues with heavy rain are clear
- Making sure we have sand bags and signs ready for the roads that are quickly inundated such as Swamp Road
- Being ready to open the Werri lagoon if the opening threshold is reached
- Implementing some temporary stormwater protections at the Jamberoo Pre-School and at a shop on Terralong Street
