A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will provide up to $10 million to establish a new Australian Chinese community education and cultural centre in Melbourne's east.
The community driven hub will be a space for multicultural groups to meet, learn, promote their history and culture.
The Liberals and Nationals would actively seek input from relevant groups on how the hub would best look and operate, ensuring communities have a dedicated space to organise future exciting events and programs.
Liberal Leader and Member for Bulleen, Matthew Guy, said the Chinese community multicultural centre would bring thousands of people together.
"My team is committed to supporting multicultural communities by providing a space to come together and celebrate their history and cultures," Mr Guy said.
"As a former Minister for Multicultural Affairs, I understand the important role multicultural communities have played in developing our state, and this commitment to build a community hub is a way of acknowledging that hard work and investment."
Member for Warrandyte, Ryan Smith, said the initiative would support a range of cultural communities from across Melbourne.
"Victorians are proud of our vibrant multicultural heritage and this centre will provide a space to come together, learn and engage," Mr Smith said.
"This is a fantastic local project that will give thousands of Victorians a place to call their very own."
