Seventeen new activities have been added to the 2026 Small Business Growth Strategy Implementation Plan, with the update launched today.
In addition to the new activities, which will see the delivery of the Small Business Growth Strategy through to December 2026, today the status of each of the original 114 activities to be delivered has been updated.
Minister for Small Business and Hospitality, Jane Howlett, said the Implementation Plan sets out the actions the government and private sector is taking towards achieving the strategy's objectives.
"In partnership with the Tasmanian Small Business Council and Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are working hard for our small businesses, to create a supportive environment in challenging economic times," Minister Howlett said.
"I'm pleased to report that the 131 activities now included, all but nine activities have commenced.
"This progress puts us, and small businesses, in a great place to continue to achieve the objectives of the Small Business Growth Strategy through to December 2026," she said.
Minister Howlett said significant consultation was undertaken throughout 2022 to develop the Strategy, and further consultation with regional chambers took place this year to ensure key themes and objectives were still current.
"This agile approach allows for actions to be developed that respond directly to changes in the business environment and demonstrates our commitment to working with small businesses to create a positive environment for them to thrive," Minister Howlett said.
